What makes a Good Blog?

Hello Friends,
I was checking out some of my favorites blogs and read a great post from Karen from Sew Many Ways  about likes and dislikes on blogs.  You can read Karen's post HERE.  Karen was touched by a comment that Daryl from Patchouli Moon Studio left on her blog and so she wrote another post which you can read HERE. The post was about a fellow blogger that has been blogging for about 5 years but has hardly received any comments and so Daryl decided to delete one of her blogs because she felt that no one even cared about her blog.
Here is a little piece of her comment that she left Karen on her blog:
"I stumbled onto your blog and I pretty much agree with you and the comments posted about what makes a good blog. I have 2 blogs and after 5 years, I rarely received any comments at all from anyone, except a personal friend of mine, that I finally just recently turned off the comments altogether. I found it depressing that no one wanted to say anything to me at all. I see so many blogs that have so many readers that comment that I couldn't understand why I wasn't getting any,so I just decided that I was doing my blog for me first and if I had no place for comments then I couldn't get depressed about not receiving any. I do have an email button so if anyone wants to ask me something or comment that way they certainly can contact me.  You can read the full post HERE.

I was also touched by her comment that I immediately headed to her blog.  I'm so glad I did and I know I will get inspired by her creations!! I also knew I just had to post about Daryl so,  all of you can have the opportunity to check out her AMAZING work HERE!!  I know that we all have a passion for what we do and LOVE to SHARE with our friends!! I also know that we LOVE to support each other and inspire and get inspired by other talented crafters.  I hope you will head on over to Daryl's  blog and check out her AMAZING creations and let her know that you as a fellow crafter do care and what to support her creations so we can continue to see more of her work!!  Thank you Daryl for letting me share about you on my blog!

What makes a GOOD blog to you?  share your comments.

Thank you for reading this post and visiting Daryl over at Patchouli Moon Studio and come back today as I will have a card to share:)  Enjoy your fabulous Day!!!

Im sorry you are terrified of the peacocks, I like to look at them but if they run.... and they sometimes do run then I am first away.

  10. Thanks Norma for letting us know about Daryl, and Karen. I feel that way a lot also, but I also feel the same way, that I blog for me, but I do wish sometimes that more people make comments on my blog, but then I know that there are my faithful few, which you are one of them :) do comment, and they make me feel FANTASTIC!! I will be heading over to Daryls blog. Thanks again, Karen♥

  12. Norma ~ this TOTALLY does not surprise me one bit that you would do this for someone! Your heart is so BIG and FILLED with LOVE for everyone! I will have to go check her out! I know for myself how hard it is to have everyday life, create and comment ~ it is a balancing act. There are times, like now, I am commenting DAYS past my favorite bloggers posts! I will try to get over there and share some kind words!

  15. It took me a while to post, but just wanted to say that I checked Daryl's blog and I became a follower, her story hit close to blog home ;) but in my case I simply enjoy the followers I got, and enjoy visiting them too, thank you by the way ;). Since there are a lot of us out there and it is hard to get to all the blogs and post on them every day, I try to visit and comment every once in a while specially if you do the same for me.

About your question, it is a tricky one for me since I like to follow different blogs for different reasons, but one thing that I found out is key when I visit is word verification, I am not a fan of it, it is true it took me a while to turnit off -I think I finally did LOL- and if I see a blog with it I will skip it, because it can be tiring. So I will say these days a god blog is one with NO word verification .
    Have a lovely day!
    Liz
